D.O. DE NAVARRA AND IPEX
Inbound missions of specialist buyers that allow regions to display their productive capabilities and benefits is one action which benefits the economies of key regions looking to promote themselves internationally. Both the Institute for Foreign Promotion of Castilla La-Mancha (IPEX), and the Denomination of Origin of Navarra, needed to attract potential clients for the industrial sector of La Mancha and the wines of Navarra respectively with the aim of attracting interest and opening opportunities in the markets of Colombia and Peru.
- For the industrial sectors of Castilla La-Mancha, the list included potential distributors and large buying companies, with special emphasis on sectors such as mining and construction. For DO de Navarra, the list included distributors and importers of wine particularly those that showed interest in expanding their product portfolios and in particular those looking for wines offered by Navarra. Both lists were verified with each institution, offering a detailed profile of each company, buying objectives and capacity in each market..
- The project grew into zcomplete project management of their participation, looking after not only the target company but also the profile of the decision-maker and their actual buying capacity. The project management objective was to ensure actual participation and provide key information throughout the whole process and to perfectly design the participant’s meeting agenda with local participating companies.
A delegation of Colombian and Peruvian buying companies participated in an industrial meeting with Castilla La-Mancha and similarly a separate delegation of Colombian buyers participated in meetings and visits to wine producers in Navarra combining not only a commercial activity but also in-person visits to vineyards and wine producers to generate higher confidence and greater potential for future business.
